My edit[edit]

Seeing as SongSign is heavily invested in maintaining and editing the page, it's only fair I point out a couple of issues that still remain.

-Firstly, the "right to life" mentioned- is this a documentary? If so, it should be mentioned separately from Shattered Pearl. Right now, that sentence looks quite weird. I couldn't fix it without knowing what the relationship between the two was about.

-Secondly, there was a lot of "they"s used liberally towards the end of the article, which I assumed were referring to Mediaeye. Please do correct them if I'm wrong, but mention at the outset who the "they" refers to.

-Thirdly, Paulmarie's name. The article sometimes spelt it 'Paulmarie', and at other times 'Paul-Marie'. I changed all of them to one form (the former) for now to maintain the uniformity of the article, but please do change them (all) to the correct form if I'm wrong. I defer to SongSign when it comes to knowing how to spell his own name :P

-Fourth, I removed certain non-related material, such as the assassination of the political figures interviewed for the documentary. As sad as that is, it is not directly related to the good Mr. Mendis, and belongs more in an article about the Eelam War than here (if you do have the names of these individuals, please feel free to find the appropriate Eelam War page and put in a line or two about how they were interviewed for this documentary, and on their deaths :) ). Multiple issues[edit]

There are multiple issues in this article. First, and most obviously, it's replete with WP:PEACOCK issues. An obvious first example is the use of adjectives like "distinguished", but there are plenty more throughout the article.

The article is primarily edited by User:Songsign, who self-identifies on his user page as Mendis's son and agent, Paul-Marie Mendis. In addition to the obvious WP:COI issues, he is reverting edits ([1], [2]) made by other editors trying to bring the page within Wikipedia guidelines, and exhibiting issues with WP:OWN (presumably, he's new to Wikipedia and not familiar with its operation). I've given him a heads-up on his talk page, but this is one to watch. TJRC (talk) 16:42, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have been notified about the issues and have read through all the guidelines, and will comply.
