Contextualize Malliotakis's vote to challenge election results?
Hi! Could editors of this page weigh in on a few questions? (1) Should Malliotakis's vote on January 6, 2021, to object to certifying the electors from Pennsylvania be contextualized by specifying that it immediately followed a violent attack on the U.S. Capitol? (2) If her vote is being ascribed by this article to "allegations of voter fraud and allegations of unconstitutional procedures in the election," should it be stated that those allegations are spurious (or some other wording)? My own votes: 1. Yes, because the attack was intended to pressure Congress to overturn the election results. 2. Yes, because the objections were heard by 60 courts that ruled that the objections were without merit. 3. Yes, because a vote to challenge election results is highly significant in a democracy.
