Structure of the disambiguation page[edit]

Generations of the Israeli Netanyahu family should not be listed in order of generation as if this were a family tree. If it warrants, an article should be written about the family, similar to the Kennedy family or Rothschild family. VanEman (talk) 03:18, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: Moved. Rough consensus that there is a primary redirect here  — Amakuru (talk) 17:43, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NetanyahuNetanyahu (surname) – It probably makes sense to redirect Netanyahu to Benjamin Netanyahu, per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. (Since this happens to be a WP:SETINDEX page, I'm requesting a move to Netanyahu (surname) instead of Netanyahu (disambiguation), the latter of which technically shouldn't exist.) Based on pageviews (that Benjamin Netanyahu receives), he is the clear WP:PTOPIC. I doubt such a move would fall into WP:RECENTISM; all the Netanyahus listed on this page are Israelis, and most (I presume) are related to the Israeli leader. He is on course to become the longest-serving Israeli leader in history, so long-term significance is unlikely to be an issue. A similar arrangements exists for Erdoğan (redirecting to the Turkish leader) with Erdoğan (name).--Nevéselbert 21:22, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If, in fact, the redirect happens, I'm fine with the disambiguation page being called "...(surname)" rather than "...(disambiguation)". Also, if the redirect happens, I would strongly like to see Yonatan Netanyahu, as well as Netanyahu (surname), get hatnotes at Benjamin Netanyahu. StevenJ81 (talk) 22:46, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@StevenJ81:I was thinking the same thing at first, however I really only hear Yonatan mentioned around the anniversary, when Banjamin you hear on a daily basis. I think if most people would hear the name Netanyahu they would think of the PM. Out of curiosity I pulled up the page stats [1], and its usually around 10:1, so that to me screams primary. I agree though, a hotnote would be appropriate, since he is definitely the secondary. - GalatzTalk 22:47, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Galatz: I imagine most people would agree with you. And I can't really argue that the PM is primary. But I'd still prefer to leave it as it is. I think part of why I feel that way is that I wonder deep in my heart if Bibi would ever have gone into politics if Yoni hadn't died at Entebbe. Anyway, my !vote is what it is.
