Spelling of the species name[edit]

The name "hookeriana" should be corrected. Article 60.11 of the code of nomenclature specifies that there should be no "i" before the "ana". Nadiatalent (talk) 12:32, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While this may be what the code states, it is not our job to correct species names - we should simply be reporting what reliable sources say. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia should be descriptive not prescriptive. Every single source I have ever come across (and I have read hundreds of papers on these plants, as well as all the major monographs) uses the spelling hookeriana. So following usage by reliable sources, the article should be at Nepenthes × hookeriana. mgiganteus1 (talk) 03:39, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While I don't agree that wikipedia should disregard the code of nomenclature, it turns out that what I said above was wrong. Discussion at Talk:Grevillea hookeriana. Nadiatalent (talk) 12:34, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
