Governor of New York
Rockefeller did not create the Long Island Expressway (which is never called "the Long Island"), which was opened in 1940.

The central facts of Nelson Rockefeller's time as Governor of New York were a massive increase in taxation and in State debt. The Wikipedia article is obsessed with details and almost ignores these central matters - the increase in taxation and debt.
