External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 4 external links on Naya Raipur. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Capital[edit]

@Ag224: You have been removing the lead sentence (along with references) stating that Naya Raipur will be the new state capital. Your reasoning seems to be that the lead is stating that the city is the current capital which it clearly isn't saying. You have also unreasonably removed valid infobox parameters in these same edits.

I have restore the lead with the reference, Taylor and Francis is a WP:Reliable source contrary to what you have stated on my User Talk page, and have also added a primary official government source. Please further discuss this here rather than continuously engaging in edit warring. Gotitbro (talk) 04:22, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Naya or Nava?[edit]

There are sources stating that the name of Naya Raipur has been changed to Nava Raipur, based on the local dialect.[1] Am I understanding this correctly? Is Naya Raipur still the common name, or should the article be moved? —C.Fred (talk) 17:12, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What is its completion and inhabitation status?[edit]

I came to this page trying to learn about the status of various planned cities. I can't tell if this one is under construction, partially inhabited, fully done, or what. For people trying to learn about the city, I suggest adding information about completion with time stamps (eg "as of 2008, only 25% was inhabited" or something)

That would make this page much more useful to people trying to learn about the city. Thank you! 2600:1700:2321:820:B857:5762:16DF:FCFB (talk) 21:41, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nava RaipurAtal NagarThe city's official name is changed to Atal Nagar not Naya Raipur, so kindly update the name title. Jagganath01 (talk) 09:12, 16 March 2024 (UTC) (WP:SOCKSTRIKEDaxServer (t · m · e · c) 09:15, 17 March 2024 (UTC))[reply]

Oppose as per WP:COMMONNAME
This is the English Wikipedia, and our articles are based on the common name in English, not the official name.
For the name to be changed, you need to prove that Atal Nagar has become more common usage than Nava Raipur, world-wide, not just locally, as the local people know about the name change. We may, eventually, change the name, as we did at Mumbai, after about 10 years, but other articles, such as Bangalore are still under their "English" names, although the official name changed in 2006, as this is what English readers recognize. - Arjayay (talk) 11:01, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, argument is basically WP:OFFICIALNAMES, Wikipedia doesn't follow official names, but the WP:COMMONNAME, and if a change has occurred, analyse whether sources have followed per WP:NAMECHANGES, which isn't provided by nominator. DankJae 14:08, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
