Dubious wording[edit]

The present article states that 'At that time [i.e. when the original organisation was founded in the 1950s] the rules of childbirth dictated that women did as their doctors told them'. What are these 'rules of childbirth'? Were they written down anywhere? Who enforced them? And which doctors are they talking about? If the TV series 'Call the Midwife' (set in the same period) is to be trusted, many babies were born without a doctor being involved at all. 2A00:23C8:7907:4B01:8D1E:87C7:A909:984D (talk) 12:28, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
