Comment[edit]

Howdy All. This poor page has seen a lot of smoke without a lot of major contributions. As a former Nadi-an (and occasional Wikipedian) I wanted to do something to give the props to the old hometown. I'd like to hope that any expansions done have more pure info & photos of the lovely place. Some of the edits looked like it was being cut apart for no particular reason. Pronunciation[edit]

What's going on with this pronunciation, particularly the space in the middle? Can anyone confirm how htis placename is pronounced? Flapdragon 12:18, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the Fijian language article for details. The /t/, /d/, and /q/ are pronounced with a preceding nasal consonant, which is not written. The space in the middle is to show where the syllables break. You could also consult User:Xorkl000, a native Fijian. David Cannon 20:26, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Here's a quote from an old (1954) article from Aeronautics about the spelling of the town's name: "By the way, the airport at Fiji is usually referred to and spelt as Nandi, but in the picture on page 67 you will see that the correct spelling is Nadi." link - tucoxn\talk 08:13, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation page needed?[edit]

I think that we will require disambiguation page for this. As Nadi may have multiple meanings. I am able to find out two meanings. 1) Nadi pariksha and 2) Nadi, Fiji.I am not aware as how to create disambiguation page. I am will try to learn it.
