Feature List Spam[edit]

This has turned into a buzzword that lots of marketing departments are adding to the feature list of their databases. As a result, a lot of spam seems to have accumulated in the list of databases. Technically, any SQL database can be used as a key/value store by stuffing everything into a VARCHAR. Very few databases don't have some sort of text and geospatial query capabilities ... because those are just fancy operations on value types. I've used Cloudant's new offerings based on embedding Lucene in the engine, and it's definitely not fundamental to their data model.

Please aggressively remove items from the list of examples that have superficial capabilities and trim down on the keyword spam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Indolering (talkcontribs) 06:35, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
