Hoax[edit]

Apparently, the whole thing was a hoax staged by two of the "witnesses", Chris Russo and Joe Rudy, as a social experiment. Videos here, here and here. --Goblin talk 09:37, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Story first explained on the eSkeptic newsletter... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.189.63.137 (talk) 10:00, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In that case the whole article needs to be rewritten from that standpoint (and moved to a more appropriate title) , and not just have the hoax stuff tacked on in the middle. – ukexpat (talk) 14:06, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

perpetrators connection to eskeptic[edit]

According to the Star Ledger, http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/04/the_two_morris_county_men.html Russo works for e-skeptic, the site mentioned in our article many times, and so it is not a true third party source in any instance, and the incident can also be seen as merely a publicity stunt for the site. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:30, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
