Plot outline[edit]

Could someone make a plot summary for this novel, and not just cultural context? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.75.192.121 (talk) 05:22, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

midaq alley[edit]

Nobel prizes are not normally awarded for individual works. The phrase 'Arabic culture' is meaningless. The book is about the world Naguib Mahfouz grew up in, which consisted of mostly relatively poor people whose first language was Arabic.Pamour (talk) 12:49, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Alley as a character[edit]

It might be worth mentioning that the Alley itself is typically considered a character.65.102.161.148 (talk) 04:13, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
