Edited for accuracy[edit]

Lancaster was not a lawyer in the Wallace trial, but she was a witness for the prosecution. Her involvement in the Leo Frank case is vague, because Dot Moore in her book talks about a newspaper clipping but never seems to have tried to follow up on it; she only speculates about what Lancaster's involvement was. Mayhayley Lancaster did publicly speak out against the way public sentiment was being whipped up against Frank, and was one of his few public defenders.

Murder in Coweta County by Margaret Barnes, 1983, ISBN 978-0882894195

The last one was mentioned in the article and was originally published in 1976. That ISBN is from a 1983 reprint. The 2011 book came after this article, so it might be helpful, and the 2001 book is more specifically about her.

Also I found this article with a picture. We may find a better one, or one in the public domain, but that is one picture we might use to make sure we are using the right picture. It also has some interesting information, although not knowing much about that site I can't speak to its reliability. The info does seem to match other sources, and gives us something to look for.

This is just what I was able to quickly find. Obviously there are newspaper reports on her and the cases involved, and other books on both mentioned murders. There are also the other cases she worked on, and her political career. Rifter0x0000 (talk) 06:34, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
