seaplane or midwing landplane[edit]

The normally extremely reliable aerofiles has an entry for an single seat Maule M-1 mid wing monoplane landplane (with the same designer's name) with a photo that seems to contradict this entire page. I wonder which is correct - or if there has been some confusion over or by the sole source used here. I find it vastly more likely that the first design effort for a homebuilt would be a small landplane. Can anyone clarify? - NiD.29 (talk) 06:02, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Air-Britain article has two images of the M-1 both on floats, it looks remarkable similar to the aerofiles image except for the floats. One of the images clearly has the registration 12634 on the tail which is also mentioned at aerofiles. So at some point it changed from a landplane to a seaplane as you said is more likely. AB mentions it was built as seaplane because he was located near Chesapeake Bay and one of the images shows the M-1 on the water. MilborneOne (talk) 13:25, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that actually makes more sense - are there by chance any specifications in that article? - NiD.29 (talk) 05:51, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
