Proposed merge[edit]

The account given here seems to be significantly at odds with the one given in the Battle of Knock Mary. Is there really any need for a separate article on this massacre anyway? William Leadford (talk) 19:17, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your question is a reasonable one. However, the facts are that each is a separate event which involved somewhat different combatants. The Battle of Knock Mary involved the Drummonds vs. Murrays initially but the battle was completed after assistance from Campbells, Faichneys and McRobbies. The Massacre of Monzievaird involved only the Campbells and Drummonds against the Murrays. The Faichneys and McRobbies had nothing to do with The Massacre and their names should not be associated with this heinous crime. Differences in terms of the date of the events and the consequences of the Massacre may continue because the event was remote and accounts do differ. Improvement in the referencing and quality of both accounts is certainly justified. I will endeavor to work on both documents to improve quality and veracity within the next 6 months. Thanks for the comments. Sincerely yours, J. David Faichney, MD---- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jfaichney (talkcontribs) 23:28, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
