Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --Eleids (talk) 17:16, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Masorti on Campus is a real organization that seeks to foster pluralistic communities on colleges campuses. I understand the languge may need some clean up to make it more encyclopedic, but that does not merit deletion. Creating a new page takes time to revise; this reaction seems to be an over reaction. How can we resolve this issue without such punitive measures? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eleids (talkcontribs) 17:16, 15 January 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

You can first take a step back and remember that we're all here to write an encyclopedia. That is all--not promote an organization, not get the word out, not try to build support for a worthy project, etc. It seems like you might be here because you have some deeper relationship with this organization, that might make it hard to see what the problems with your content are (a conflict of interest). I have again removed unacceptable material (promotional/recruiting rather than neutral independently-cited neutral). I advise you to read the notes I left on your talkpage. For now, I have declined to delete the article because I think the group might be notable enough to merit an article. But WP is only for groups that are already notable (that's a policy: see WP:GROUP), so it's quite possible that this one isn't yet to that threshold. It's not a punishment...consider it an encouragement to strive to meet that level. DMacks (talk) 18:37, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising tag[edit]

I am restoring the advertising tag because this piece is full of promo fluff like "university students who share the values of love of Torah, devotion to social justice, commitment to Israel and community as the future of Judaism", "powerful Torah learning", and "MoC is committed to promoting the growth of thoughtful Jewish adults, who value both tradition and egalitarianism". This is not a place for a brochure for the organization - there are plenty of places on the web to do that. A group's claims about its mission makes poor source for what it actually is and does. --Nat Gertler (talk) 15:56, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
