POV[edit]

"However, most of her critics refrain from pointing out facual errors in her work and confine their criticism to ad-hominem attacks." This sounds POV to me, especially since it's unsourced. I think the section on criticism of Lefkowtiz should be confined to what her critics say about her; the merits of said criticism can be addressed elsewhere in the article. POV / Original Research / Other Stuff[edit]

I have tweaked a couple of sections to remove what I think is POV and original research and to make more clear who is saying what.

For example, it is a matter of fact that her book Black Athena Revisited examines the ideas of Martin Bernal's Black Athena. It is POV and original research that this was "much to their detriment."

In the nested quote at the end, it was not clear who was saying what. By adding "Lefkowitz writes" I think it is now clear that it is her book that is being quoted and the internal quote is her account of what ben-Jochannan said.140.163.0.5 (talk) 19:28, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Funding by conservative donors[edit]

See[1] and Bernal's review.[2] She was funded (her statement) by the Bradley Foundation and the John M. Olin Foundation - Bernal states that "are among the most generous contributors to many right-wing organizations including The National Review, The Heritage Foundation and the National Association of Scholars (N.A.S.). Mary Lefkowitz, along with Jeane Kirkpatrick, Peter Diamondopoulos and some three dozen others, sits on the advisory board of the N.A.S. and plays an active role in its journal Academic Questions." What the f has this to with anything? Afrocentrism is simply pure fantasy and/or nonsense.--Ralfdetlef (talk) 13:12, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Who pays for scholarly work is very important. While no one might care who pays for your vitriol- who pays the piper is important. 2601:5CF:8000:6B60:A199:1956:F28B:369 (talk) 12:36, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed with 2601:5CF:8000:6B60:A199:1956:F28B:369. Ralfdetlef's personal judgments about Afrocentrism have no place in an encyclopedia, unless they publish a reliable book or article on the topic. Msalt (talk) 16:39, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
