So, let me get this straight. This guy was an important figure on early Israeli history with his "Deuteronomic history". This guy was born in Germany, and SERVED the entire war except for a time in 1942, in which he found the occasion to write his Deuteronomic theory. This was a Nazi soldier in Nazi Germany during WW2 writing about Jews in his leasure time and it was in a fairly positive light. Just how the hell do people think Germany was during WW2? That Nazis had the time to write and publish casually on some elaborate ancient Biblical Israeli history inbetween the World War that was going on? And then after surviving all that he just went to teach in colleges until he inexplicably died in the Negev desert during an expedition? WTF. This article makes no sense right now, so it needs some serious work if it's even accurate. 77.165.250.227 (talk) 23:15, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

- If I may add my two cents: Nazi-Germany had COMPULSORY military service. Mr. Noth wrote about the bible in his normal job as expert for the Old Testament at a university, not in his leasure time. He shouldn't be judge by the fact alone that he was drafted from his job into Hitler's army. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.153.19.114 (talk) 06:10, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
