Moved. See general agreement below to drop the "Region" in this title and include a parenthetical qualifier. There is also a suggestion to rename similar titles the same way, as well as notification of inconsistency in other similar article titles that give this a wider scope? This precedent may support some or all of those as tech moves. Kudos to editors for your input, and Happy Publishing! Maritime RegionMaritime (Togolese region) – Per WP:PLACEDAB. The region's proper name is "Maritime", but maritime is a disambiguation page, and Maritime (region) could be ambiguous with several places. Actually I was going to suggest that the other regions should be renamed to match the (Togolese region) disambiguation where it's required. As I understand it these regions are formal political divisions (like a state or province) rather than a geographic region, and the proper name of this region is "Maritime", not "Maritime Region". The article for where I live is not titled Prince Edward Island Province, for example. Although that does exist as a redirect. Hmm. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:22, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
French Wikipedia doesn't seem to have a specific naming convention for geographic places, but this one in particular is a bad example to compare to English standards. It includes a descriptor of the geographic feature in the title which is against the English standard unless it serves natural disambiguation (it doesn't in this case because "maritime region" is still an ambiguous title) and it is also parenthetically disambiguated where disambiguation is not necessary (fr:Région maritime redirects to the same article and there don't seem to be any other uses). • Of countries that have generic terms for region names, most Wikipedia articles use "Region" in the title (e.g. Burkina Faso, Ghana, Cameroon) and some don't (e.g. Equatorial Guinea). It doesn't appear that any use "region" in the disambiguator, though. —  AjaxSmack  06:48, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
