Improvement[edit]

I cleaned this article up a bit. Much better. Blakey 06

Origin[edit]

"Marc is a western european forename, a variation on the biblical name Mark." This is wrong. Marc is a variation on the biblical name Marcus, a latin name (though is the new testament it if course appears in Greek). Mark is the Germanic variation of the latin name Marcus. Marc is a latin variation. Other latin variations include Marco and Marcos.ha he is also in a band called the trade:)

Consolidating Marc/MARC[edit]

There is a page for Marc (disamb.) and MARC (disamb.). MARC links to Marc, but not vice-versa. There are several pages listed on MARC that are not on Marc. Marc is also the first result to display if searching "marc". I think they would be better if the pages were combined, with a redirect for whichever is closed (I vote MARC). Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with editing Disambiguation pages. --Westleyd (talk) 11:14, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alcohol[edit]

The word "marc" referring to a French alcohol drink occurs several times in books by Peter Mayle (A Year in Provence, Toujours Provence). He apparently enjoys the stuff. I get the impression that it's some sort of brandy made from the leavings of making wine. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/marc Dick Kimball (talk) 13:16, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
