  • MahonMahon (disambiguation) – Page was moved without any discussion. User has moved it because one user tentatively discussed it in an ]unrelated move discussion, but there was no apatite for the page move in that discussion. The "Mahon" page was originally a redirect to the "Mahón" page. This worked well, as mentioned in that unrelated discussion, the page for the town in Menorca recieved over 30 times more views than the disambiguation page; and almost 13 times the views of the next highest viewed page (which is Mahon, Cork). The move is highly disruptive as Mahon is the English translation of Mahón, and very very very few people searching or creating links bother to add the accent. When we look at the "what links here" for the Mahon page, out of the 50 something links, all but 4 or 5 are referring to "Mahón". I have started redirecting some of these links, but its an endless task because every new link searching for "Mahón" will just put "Mahon". The disruption should be ended. The page should be restored as a redirect to "Mahón", with the disambiguation page returned to it's rightful "Mahon (disambiguation)" place. Relisted. • Comment - not sure about this. To some extent [[1]] should eventually regulate itself with dab tools. We could just clean up the 50, and watch how it goes. In ictu oculi (talk) 03:16, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose how is McMahon or MacMahon derived from Spanish? Dropping the Mc/Mac creates "Mahon" -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 06:53, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, at least "without prejudice". I've skimmed through Talk:Mahón#Requested_move_2013, and moving the dab page was proposed, but has never been seriously on the table. As for the substance of the matter, so far I have seen substantial evidence (page views, whatlinks here) that the Majorcan town is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the term 'Mahon'. Have you approached User:BDD, the admin who closed that discussion? No such user (talk) 10:54, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Update - I've been through and fixed all the broken pipelinks. There were about 20 (once a template had been dealt with). I didn't bother updating Talk pages. The changes won't show on What Links Here? for 24 hours. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:58, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Should also note that many were pipelinks from "Port Mahon" in Napoleonic context, where in future the redirect will carry it. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:00, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, noting that the page seemed much more viewed than all other candidates collectively for "Mahon". ENeville (talk) 16:58, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
