Comprehensive Book[edit]

I found "Innocent Passage: The Wreck of the Tanker Braer," written by Jonathan Will, at the California Maritime Academy Library. In the spirit of an investigative journal piece, it chronicles the details that led up to the disaster, as well as those of the aftermath, giving voice to all the stakeholders involved. Written the same year as the disaster, the book expounded on the author's original reporting of the incident. Topical, detailed, and balanced, this should be a good fit under the heading, “Further Reading.”Jsinclairc (talk) 01:42, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Scholarly Journals[edit]

Found in the Further Reading Section, I've added two scholarly journals to the article.

The Campbell et al. source expands the article's context by providing a scientific analysis of the aftereffects of the spill on the area's human population. The conclusions are noteworthy, and help readers understand the incident in a more informed manner.

The Jacobsson source highlights legal proceedings related to Braer oil spill, and provides yet another context within which to understand the incident's aftereffects. Specifically highlighted are the numerous insurance claims made by locals, as well as, U.K. intragovernment plans and procedures regarding past, present and future compensation.
