See Talk:SS Bantam (1930), Two BANTAMS, for discussion on the confusion with these two ships of the same name, in the same area and under the same flag. Unfortunately the official and other histories readily available are pretty silent for this ship. The best part of her story may actually be postwar in the independence turmoil as Indonesia is becoming a reality with the ship active in regional commerce and then sold and operational into the 1960s. this photo with the left over wartime lighters is a part of that.
