User:Jeff G., can we use this image? And under what license? Thank you! Drmies (talk) 16:07, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Drmies: Hi. What can you tell us about the name and lifetime of the photographer and the dates and countries of photography and publication? Also, please see C:COM:HIRTLE.   — Jeff G. ツ 00:54, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Jeff, what is on that page is all I know--which means, if I read that Hirtle page correctly, that it's 120 years, right? Drmies (talk) 01:11, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Drmies: Right, only 30 years to go. :)   — Jeff G. ツ 01:21, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Image of George Hughes alive[edit]

The image from the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, University of Texas at Austin, can be seen in this magazine article. It isn't out of copyright, and the Wikipedia:Fair use justification, that we cannot possibly have a non-free image, seems weak to me unless we can actually talk about what is photographed specifically, otherwise the article stands well without it.
