Recent edits[edit]

I made a few edits to this article describing it as one of the groupements within the Bafuliiru Chiefdom. However, it was reverted to its original version without any explanation or notification. Hello, @EdwinAlden.1995:, thanks for engaging here. I'm afraid that I reverted you in line with WP:BRD and made clear my reasons in the edit summary. This article has described Luvungi as a town or village since 2013. You may be correct that it is instead an administrative sub-division but please provide a reliable source to support such far-reaching changes. I see that you have now added a new source (www.africmemoire.com) but this does not appear to meet our guidelines for reliability. Hello, @Brigade Piron, thanks for the feedback. You're absolutely right, and my apologies for not citing published works. There are numerous published works that support and reinforce my claims. For instance, in Christoph N. Vogel's book Conflict Minerals, Inc.: War, Profit, and White Saviourism in Eastern Congo (2022), Lemera is described as a groupement, and the chief is mentioned. Additionally, Jules Gerard-Libois and Benoit Verhaegen’s Congo 1964: Political Documents of a Developing Nation (2015) mentions Lemera as a groupement on page 64. In Shimbi Kamba Katchelewa's L'Est du Congo-Zaïre: Uvira: aux sources d'une conscience rebelle (2001), Lemera is described as a groupement with its leader mentioned on page 89. Furthermore, John Kapapi's Lies of the Tutsi in Eastern Congo/Zaire: A Case Study: South Kivu (Pre-Colonial to 2018) (2019) provides a list of whole groupements and villages within Bafuliiru Chiefdom.

Hello, @Brigade Piron. Thanks for flagging that error. Regarding Luvungi, the previous sources also describe it as a groupement of the Bafuliiru Chiefdom (Chefferie de Bafuliiru). In Carte des sols et de la végétation du Congo belge et du Ruanda-Urundi: Volume 3 (1955), Luvungi is described as a groupement of the Bafuliiru Chiefdom on page 16. Bosco Muchukiwa's Territoires ethniques et territoires étatiques pouvoirs locaux et conflits interethniques au Sud-Kivu (R.D. Congo) (published 2006) describes numerous groupements of the Bafuliiru Chiefdom, including Luvungi, on page 25-28. Christoph N. Vogel's Conflict Minerals, Inc.: War, Profit and White Saviourism in Eastern Congo also describes Luvungi as a groupement and further explains how it has been plagued by militia groups. Additionally, Alexis Kagame's Éléments d'histoire du Rwanda (1978) mentions Luvungi several times as a groupement on page 23-24.
