Islamification

a youtube video of a radio interview of a woman from UKIP asserts her belief that Luton has been "Islamiphied" into a "ghetto", so I came here looking for evidence that confirms or contradicts that assertions and I note that the stats on population state that 24% self-identify as being "muslim", there is no "arab" race in the racial demographics, but there is a 30% demographic called "asian or British asian" and I wonder if the stat on race is using the term "asian" to describe what might otherwise be known as "arabic" or possibly "semite". If so (that the 30% of arabs which correspond to the 24% muslim demographic) it appears that the "arabic" nature of the population is being masked or obscured for some political reason, otherwise one must believe that the 24% muslim population is dispersed across the rational demographics (black, white, asian, etc...) and there is no statistical connection between the race data and the religion data, which seems highly unlikely to me, since it is commonly accepted that muslims as a general rule, world-wide, do not assimilate into the cultures that take them in. In short, I'm wondering where the arabs in Luton are, and if they are being hidden for political reasons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.25.171.16 (talk) 06:36, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Nothing is being hidden. Most Muslims in Luton are of Pakistani or Bangladeshi origin, and they are included in "Asian or Asian British". There is a small Arab population (0.81% in 2011), which is included in "Other". Please see Demography of Luton for more details. JonH (talk) 10:33, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
