Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions

Since that's the anime's licensed name, shouldn't it be moved to the English name per MOS:ANIME? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 04:05, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose for now Is there any real evidence that this is the title that Sentai is going to release it under? I see that that's what The Anime Network is calling it, but they also feature a description including Satone, a character who does not even appear in the anime, so I don't really know how credible they are.-- 05:55, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

english translation of japanese title[edit]

a better translation of the japanese title in the nihongo template at the beginning of the lead was introduced by Ppayne, reverted by IGeMiNix on the basis that the previous translation is official (i.e. used somewhere by the broadcaster, not the title of an officially licensed translation), unreverted by 165.212.161.131 on the basis that it's a translation of the japanese, not an english title subject to officiality or common use or what have you, then rereverted by TropicalMonsoon without comment. a compromise translation of sorts was then added by Wonchop, and it was again reverted by TrpicalMonsoon without comment.

mos isn't very helpful, its treatment is confined to english titles used as article titles, in which common use rules, naturally.

literal translation has several precedents: see Eureka Seven and Godannar and Gurren Lagann

for this reason i recommend some variation of Ppayne's title. it being impersonal and translating koi ga shitai non-terribly makes it markedly better. 96.241.150.64 (talk) 22:50, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The entire title part of this page with the translation is Completely Borked. The proper translation is "Even with 8th Grader Syndrome, I want to be in love!" Chuunibyou means "8th Grader Syndrome". Dump all this (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, and 'Even People with Adolescent Delusions of Grandeur Want to Experience Love') and just delete it. It doesn't even resemble the original Japanese text, and it's not even a translation! Also properly romanize 'Chuunibyou'. It's obvious that a bunch of monkeys with typewriters tried to work out a translation and came up with a script for Macbeth instead, only not quite. Ignore any titles from "licensors" because they're usually wrong, too. Don't you want accuracy on this page? 65.25.60.165 (talk) 02:36, 21 August 2013 (UTC)moi[reply]

The general guideline (WP:MOS-AM, WP:UE) is to use the title which is most recognizable in English, and as if often the case, this means the official English title from the licensor, so Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions is not changing. The literal translation of the Japanese title, Even People with Adolescent Delusions of Grandeur Want to Experience Love!, is also an official translation, so that's why it's used over a fan-translation.-- 03:30, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I also find 'Even People...' variant of translation poor and clumbersome. Can you please provide an example of official page using this translation? 188.134.33.52 (talk) 22:29, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Upon further investigation, it was changed last December without discussion from an earlier official translation by TBS, Regardless of My Adolescent Delusions of Grandeur, I Want a Date!. At this point, it seems rather arbitrary, so you can change Even People with Adolescent Delusions of Grandeur Want to Experience Love! if you want to something better.-- 01:13, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions – Well, many sources like ANN are now using the English title. This move is long overdue. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:35, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

  • Oppose As I said before, is there any real indication that this is the title Sentai is going to release it under? It would be kind of ridiculous if we moved the article and then Sentai released it under a different name.-- 21:27, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support After some further research, Sentai put out a tweet on January 2 confirming this title (as much as I dislike it).-- 21:37, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. ANN uses the proposed form. Kauffner (talk) 09:29, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rikka Takanashis eyes[edit]

So can anyone explain why Rikka Takanashi eyes are different colors? Right eye is golden in color while left eye is green. Is she wearing contact lens or are they her natural eyes? Thx 98.203.247.11 (talk) 14:46, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, she wears a contact lens in her right eye.-- 22:11, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest to split character[edit]

As of Subaru Natsuki, I suggest to split one article:

Feel free to find and search both Japanese and English sources about this character. Maanshen (talk) 03:37, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
