Forfeiture[edit]

Should we include a section "Forfeiture" in which we cover the cases of Ron Brierley and James Wallace (philanthropist)? Both are alive, one of them has lost his knighthood, and the government has just initiated the steps for forfeiture for the other. Schwede66 20:40, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Schwede66: At this stage I would say no. If the current case follows that of Brierley, the knighthood will not only be cancelled but also annulled, i.e. declared to have had no legal existence. Paora (talk) 01:31, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's an interesting interpretation. I would have thought that regardless of any possible annulment, the knighthood(s) did exist at some point as backed up by numerous WP:RS. I suggest that we should discuss that Brierley's knighthood existed and then got annulled, while Wallace is going through the process of forfeiture at present.
