Soap operas[edit]

Why is it that this list does not contain soap operas? Soaps are notorious for using multiple actors to play the same character. There are probably hundreds of examples from the soap opera genre. It seems like this list is limited to sitcoms only. Is that the case? If so, the article title should be renamed. Thoughts? Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 01:10, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is a seperate list called List of soap opera recasts. (talk) 18:25, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I did not know that. I will add it as a "see also" at the bottom of this article's list. Thank you. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 22:35, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Twins Sharing Roles[edit]

I don't think twins sharing a role should count here, as most of the child roles are played by twins.

Maybe it's notable that FRATERNAL twins were playing Tabitha on Bewitched. Those were Erin and Diane Murphy, but Diane was dropped later as the twins began to look less alike. Carlm0404 (talk) 17:09, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Mistake[edit]

I think the character from the serie "V" Elizabeth should be removed. The change of actor is due to the growing up of the character. I know it was a magic and sudden way but still was something inside the script.

Similar case whit the character of Silas in "The vampire diaries". He is a magician that takes the appearence of other characters in the serie and only for a brief moments. I dont think the list applies for that kind of case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.94.20.1 (talk) 10:42, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Animated shows[edit]

Family Guy was added to this list but should animated shows be included? It is not as though the appearance of the character changed if the voice actor changed. I am considering removing animated shows unless I get given a good reason not to. PlayStation 14 (talk) 15:59, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Flintstones in the 1960s had Bea Benaderet giving way to Gerry Johnson for the voice of Betty Rubble. Mel Blanc was the voice of Barney Rubble, but Daws Butler briefly substituted while Blanc recovered from an accident. Carlm0404 (talk) 17:05, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

should also include these?[edit]

Leave It to Beaver: 3 (not 2?) different men played Eddie Haskell's father. This is already listed except for number discrepancy.

Bewitched: Robert Simon and Roy Roberts played Darrin's father.

Lassie: Paul and Ruth Martin were played by Jon Shepodd and Cloris Leachman, but then Cloris Leachman left, and according to what I see on wikipedia, children would have been confused to have Jon Shepodd still on the show and a different woman as the wife. So Jon Shepodd also had to leave the show, and the roles went to Hugh Reilly and June Lockhart.

Peyton Place: I didn't watch the show back then but do remember the opening announcement of a substitute who filled in "until the return of Dorothy Malone". According to wikipedia, the substitute was Lola Albright. Carlm0404 (talk) 03:27, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed in the article about Bea Benaderet regarding the Burns & Allen show: "Blanche's husband Harry was played by four actors over the show's eight-year run". Earlier, I forgot to include I Dream of Jeannie, where a reunion had Wayne Rogers as Tony Nelson because Larry Hagman was unavailable.Carlm0404 (talk) 19:38, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To look up opposite situation[edit]

This wikipedia article is about same character/ different actor. Today, I forgot where to go for for same actor / different character (within a single production), but just now recalled "dual role" for that situation. Please keep the paragraph you are reading in here in case such forgetting happens again. Carlm0404 (talk) 19:51, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
