Small lakes[edit]

Any suggestion where to put information about small lakes (must be < 10km2) : There are maybe 500.000+ of them, and probably we do not want them here. Example: Kandrykul lake near Kandry, Bashkortostan respublika. Thanks.

This list in its present form is of quite limited utility—indeed, we don't want to end up with listing hundreds of thousands small lakes on one page! For now, however, since the list is still small, I see no problem with adding small lakes to it (perhaps in a separate "Small lakes" section, so the better known and larger lakes still stand out). As long as an article on a lake (no matter how small) exists, it qualifies. Once the list grows to the point of being unmanageable, we'll have to think of how to organize it better. Often, the entries on the lists must have their own article. Sometimes also a foreign wikipedia is suitable to link with notation (for example "ru:"). I'd suggest though that this would be sorted by area, or at least put their sizes in the article... 85.217.50.139 (talk) 13:16, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
