HUMPHREY LYTTELTON IS A TRUMPETER NOT A TROMBONIST!—Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.92.67.65 (talk) 16:25, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As is Maynard Ferguson.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Funkmastertrag (talkcontribs) 19:41, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, Maynard IS a trombonist as he played the superbone and the valve trombone as well as his main instrument, the trumpet. Srconrad 17:52, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quentin Jackson is not a jazz trombonist, he is a professinoal sports figure—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.236.49.201 (talk) 21:54, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How do you add a new Wikipedia page? And about a guy with the identical name to another guy that has a Wikipedia page? Andy Martin is the guy I'm talking about in this case. I came here today and noticed that he's linked to some dude with the same name from England (not a trombonist). Of course, Andy Martin is the great American trombonist and he deserves his own page. Srconrad 17:57, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Disambiguation for cases like this. You might wish to make the page at a title like "Andy Martin (trombonist)", and have a link at the top of the Andy Martin page. -- Infrogmation 18:55, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I see. But I don't understand why you reverted my changes. Why would you want to link to the wrong Andy Martin in the meantime? Srconrad 06:39, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I initially reverted the change removing the wikilink as anyone who deserves to be in the list deserves to have an article. I changed the link to go to "Andy Martin (trombonist)", and also added a link there at Andy Martin as a disambiguation at the top of the article. You might wish to check "what links here" at Andy Martin to see if there are any other links that need to be disambiguated to point to the trombonist. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 15:12, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The article Andy Martin (trombonist) was a copyright violation; it has been deleted. I will leave the red link on this page though, since it's reasonable to expect that this article will be re-created properly in the future. Sancho 02:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

May 2008[edit]

There seems to be rather a lot of unreferenced names in this list.In the interests of tidying-up I propose removal of the names here that do not link to other Wikipedia pages.Paul210 (talk) 22:06, 25 May 2008 (UTC) Only notable jazz trombinists belong in this list. :I removed the names in the list which had neither an article nor any source as a reference to show that the person might be notable. Otherwise anyone could add their own or their friend's name as a prank, or the name of someone who would not be considered a notable jazz trombonist.. It is up to the person adding a name to add an inline reference to a reliable source along with the redlink. I left one redlink to a person who is known to be a member of a band.
