If there is already a list like this, I couldn't find one. -- Mapetite526 (talk) 19:51, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion criteria[edit]

Is there an inclusion criteria for this list? Currently all entries are blue links so one might assume the list is those who meet WP:NSKATE but the lead simply says, "The following is a list of figure skaters." ~Kvng (talk) 16:29, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I did not put this list together, so I have no idea. All redlinks have been deleted. All PRODs are in italics. I have been adding the skaters’ nationalities, disciplines, and medal wins at championship-level events. However, winning a medal at a championship-level event is not a prerequisite for WP:NSKATE. So, if the skater qualifies for NSKATE but lacks a championship medal, that field simply says 'None'. I have also begun spinning off the skaters into four separate articles based on discipline: men’s singles, women’s singles, pairs, and ice dance.
This list is way out of date and is missing skaters from probably the last 4–6 years. I have added anyone missing who is on my personal watchlist, but that is a small fraction. It will take a lot of work to bring these lists currents as well as weed out the skaters that no longer qualify for WP:NSKATE.
Additionally, there are some skaters who do not necessarily meet the requirements of NSKATE, but I have chosen to keep them based on a robust competition history or other factors. Anyone I think should be deleted, but might be questionable, I have sent to AFD rather than PROD. Bgsu98 (Talk) 17:23, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
