Removed redirect[edit]

Like many similar pages (Districts of Bihar, Districts of Jharkhand, Districts of Uttar Pradesh, and so on - this also require a separate page, and I have removed the redirection link to Assam. --Bhadani 09:19, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think we need a separate page naming Districts of Assam, presently this is a redirection link to List of districts of Assam, where includes various history related information. Technically Districts of Assam ought to work as article and List of districts of Assam will work as a list, that can be inserted anywhere we need.

Number of districts[edit]

What is the current official district count for Assam? The beginning of the article says 24 while the listing has 27. Can somebody please add a verifiable reference?

The official count is probably 27 ([1]). 24 is the count from 2001. Also, the map is wrong. Chaipau 16:03, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Presently Assam has 33 districts and 78 subdivisions. I am trying to give best information in this article. I got some information from websites and made a map accordingly. (P.Phukan 14:54, 31 October 2016 (UTC))

Co-ordination of numbers.[edit]

Some of the numbers of the districts in the list in the article don't match the numbers of the districts on the accompanying map. Will the creator of the article please straigthen this out. Caeruleancentaur (talk) 20:20, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
