New person asking about cooling baths[edit]

Calcium chloride is mentioned twice, at different ratios in a CaCl2:Ice bath, with substantially different resulting temperatures. I would guess that one might "melt" the ice until the other ratio was attained, then a sudden temperature change could occur. That sounds unlikely to me, but I'm not a professional chemist. Is there a "standard tables" or good textbook that lists these slurries? I looked at the sources given, for instance, and none included an ammonium chloride bath.

Better source needed?

Dead Link[edit]

The first reference http://chemwiki.ucdavis.edu/VV_Lab_Techniques/Cooling_baths is dead. Maybe there is an updated version or better source available? 160.85.7.51 (talk) 06:52, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
