The title of this page should be "List of universities and colleges in Prince Edward Island". In keeping a standard with the other provinces of canada pages, the polital division is used, i.e. PEI is a province. The geographical use of the island to describe PEI should not be used as no other province has a page divided by a geographial term. Tolivero (talk) 17:57, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Support - what DoubleBlue said. And it's not improper grammar. These lists refer to the political entity, not the geographic one. If we ever start organzing these lists by geographic area (e.g. List of universities and colleges in the Ottawa Valley), then by all means we can say "on PEI". The lists are organized by province. In this case, the province (a political entity) also happens to a be a geographic area, but these lists are not organized by geographic entities, so in this case the reference is to the political entity. Skeezix1000 (talk) 20:04, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Provinces are not necessarily geographic areas, they ARE definitely political. In this case it is a geographical area as well, but that does not mean it is incorrect grammar to say "In PEI". DigitalC (talk) 06:07, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A google search for "In PEI" turns up 209,000 hits, while "On PEI" turns up 114,000. A search for "In Prince Edward Island" turns up 492,000 while "On Prince Edward Island" turns up 162,000 hits.
