How long is the canal between Al-Yusufiyyah and Latifiya?[edit]

I look at the scale on the map of Iraq and wonder how it can be that "a 550-kilometre (340 mi) canal intersects with the Euphrates 40 kilometres (25 mi) south of Baghdad to link the town of Al-Yusufiyyah (on the Euphrates) with Latifiya (on the Tigris in Baghdad) through the industrial part of Baghdad"

550 kilometers is a good percentage of the entire length of the country. Are those numbers correct? Artemis-Arethusa (talk) 03:23, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
