Summary of WWII actions[edit]

Just some brief summary comments out of Russian and modern sources (especially Miroslav Morozov):

Actions of 22 and 23 June 1941 - Romanian victory; Romanian river monitors Basarabia and Mihail Kogălniceanu plus four Romanian armed boats repulse two Soviet naval attacks, damaging two monitors and two patrol boats and sinking another patrol boat[3] Very blurred events: Russian sources actually indicate one monitor damaged only

Raid on Constanța (26 June 1941) - Romanian-German victory Confirmed by Russian sources

Action of 9 July 1941 - Romanian victory Confirmed by Russian sources

Action of 18 September 1941 (part of the Siege of Odessa) - Romanian victory If i recall correctly, Romanian sources claim a successful motor torpedo boat attack on Soviet destroyer. Totally not-existing event.

Battle of Jibrieni (17 December 1941) - Romanian victory Likely not-existing event: Submarine claimed sunk could not have been present during the action.

Action of 13 June 1942 - Romanian victory; Soviet submarine A-5 damaged by Romanian depth charges near Odessa[4] Russian sources claim a German ASW attack: moreover quite insignificant event, submarine kept on operations.

Battle of Cape Burnas (1 October 1942) - Romanian victory Russian sources claim (again) it was more likely a German success.

Action of 14 October 1942 - Romanian victory; Soviet submarine M-32 repulsed and damaged by the Romanian torpedo boat Smeul[5][6] Confirmed but according Russian sources could have been also Regel Ferdinand destroyer.

Action of 26 December 1942 - Romanian victory; Soviet submarine L-6 damaged by depth charges after unsuccessfully attacking a Romanian supply convoy[7] No damage.

Action of 7 July 1943 - Romanian victory; Soviet submarine M-31 depth charged and sunk by the Romanian destroyer Mărășești[8] Submarine departed for last campaign 13 December 1942!! Likely sun on 17 December 1942 by German sub.chaser UJ-116 Xanten and small minesweepers.

Action of 18 April 1944 (part of the Crimean Evacuation) - Romanian-German victory 3 versions of the event (loss of submarine L-6). 1) on 16 April, attack by German sub.chaser UJ-115 Rosita, forced to surface, then sunk by German seaplane Bv-138. 2) on 18 April, sunk by Romanian gunboat Gikulescu and German sub.chaser UJ-104. 3) on 21 April, sunk by German sub.chaser UJ-103.

Action of 27 April 1944 (part of the Crimean Evacuation) - Romanian-German victory 3 Attacking soviet TK boats: one attacking boat lost at the price of the larger and more powerful German sub.chaser UJ-104 crippled (never recovered). So result "Indecisive" or even a Soviet victory counting Soviet TK swarm-attack tactics implied to accept losses in terms of hits on larger targets (and the price for UJ-104 was just loss of TK-332)
