Spears is the only act to have collaborated with both Michael Jackson and Madonna

This is inaccurate. I'm pretty sure Justin Timberlake collaborated with Michael Jackson and Madonna as well. Secondly, why is this significant? --p4 (talk) 01:01, 28 August 2011 (UTC)p4poetic

Justin Timberlake collaborated with Michael Jackson in Love Never Felt so Good: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Never_Felt_So_Good

And with Madonna on 4 Minutes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4_Minutes

This is a fallacy, built on sentiment and ignorance of the music business. Britney's fans insist that she is a legend, so in making this claim of alleged notoriety they are trying to say that since Madonna and Micheal are legends, that simply being linked to them makes Britney a legend. If Britney is a legend, then her fans should be able to point to what she has done herself rather than lean on Michael and Madonna for relevance. However, pop collaborations are a dime a dozen in the music world, as Britney's recent and future dependence on others will affirm to us all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:14B:4401:D5C0:5C7F:1786:C7EF:3027 (talk) 13:05, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

200million singles and sales

why does it say this in the article there is no proof and if there was then she would have sold 200 million records world wide, (records are albums and singles.)I'm a britney fan but until there is proof of this can it be removed as it is false unless it can be proved. as unfortunatly there is no-where that tells you her album and single sales.

Achievements section

This section has many problems. Most of it is unsourced. Some claims are questionable: "Britney Spears' fragrances for Elizabeth Arden, is the best selling celebrity fragrance line of all time" doesn't appear consistent with [1]. And in any event, most of these claims about "best selling" are not typical of pages of awards, which are about awards. "Most retired #1 videos"? "5th best selling artist"? If these are significant then say something about it in the main article or in the lead of the discography. But they are not "awards" in the usual sense. Gimmetoo (talk) 15:15, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Britney Spears fragrances for Elizabeth Arden, is one of the best selling celebrity fragrance line of all time a long with J.lo and Elizabeth Taylors according to MTV and Hollywood Reporter, she has sold over a billion bottles of fragrances. As far as other awards go, they're still her achievements like most retired #1 videos-she once won TRL queen award, there was no youtube then and she is 5th best selling artist of the last decade. These are what other artits have written too. People seem to make big deal when it comes to Britney only.67.2.49.34 (talk) 05:34, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

That may well be, but as Britney did not design her perfumes, but merely had someone design them for her, then the award actually goes to the whole team, or more appropriately to the people who designed the fragrance for her. These celebrity products are all the same. They have a fragrance already designed, or else they take a stereotype of the person and "create" a fragrance just for them. Britney loves vanilla and she's from the south and she wants to appeal to youth and she sells sex, for example. Anyone could say as a basic formula vanilla + magnolia + sandlewood + alcohol. Sadly some of these celebrity fragrances are cheaply made and are not as high quality as other perfumes for the fact that the celebrity takes some of the funding away, and they want the fragrance to be cheaply priced so that the product sells. This is a marketing fact that a fragrance expert could verify. Britney's fragrances do not necessarily sell based on quality, but because they placed her name on the bottle and put cheap ingredients in the bottle. That it sells well right now, is not a reflection of the cologne as much as the media hype. They keep changing the formula every couple years to keep the fans coming back. So it's misleading to state that these perfumes sell well as if it's some stellar achievement on Britney's part without an understanding of the fragrance industry.

It's also shows a lack of sophistication. Why would anyone want to wear the same cologne as everyone else? The whole point of sex appeal is to have a scent that is memorable to the man so that he thinks of no one else but the woman in question. And ironically, Britney talked about this herself in her song Perfume, when she wanted to mark her territory. Hopefully Britney's men will only cheat on her with non-britney fans. If they cheat on her with britney-fans then they will all wear her cologne and smell like her. Britney can "mark her territory" all she wants, but if these women wear her cologne, then she will never know her man has been with someone other than herself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:14B:4401:D5C0:5C7F:1786:C7EF:3027 (talk) 12:52, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

"But even though the celebrity fragrances are typically cheaper than those from the traditional, upmarket perfumiers, critics say consumers are being short-changed because these scents are made from low-grade synthetic chemicals that cost almost nothing to produce. Luca Turin, a biophysicist and author of The Secret Of Scent And Perfumes: The Guide explains: 'A bottle of perfume is made up of 80 per cent alcohol and 20 per cent perfume oil, which gives the fragrance its smell." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1094549/What-price-true-scent-celebrity-Christmas-Theyre-popular-good-fragrances-named-stars.html

Can somebody list out the awards she won or not

It doesn't let me do that. It should be listed like other artists, it's more clear. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.228.195.18 (talk) 00:42, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

No, because once it is listed, people continue to add to the number and falsify this overview of the page. —ArreJLover 00:51, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

That's what all fans do for their fave, I don't see them get them down because a fan changed the numbers.67.2.49.34 (talk) 05:39, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

This needs cleaning up.

Are online polls considered awards now? --SophiaPehawkins (talk) 10:28, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

In Britney world, yes. They post these polls to the britney fan sites and then pressure each other to vote. These polls are not scientific (as they are subject to response bias) and do not reflect any talent or achievement on Britney's part. What we do know, is that it is a widely held belief by fans, as documented on the fan sties, that Britney's team does not spend money to promote her and that her team does lurk on her fan pages. It's pretty evident that Britney's team can spend minimal time and effort whipping her fans into a frenzy so that they will win these online polls and promote their artist for them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:14B:4401:D5C0:5C7F:1786:C7EF:3027 (talk) 12:35, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Emmy Awards (?)

Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video for a Series, Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Editing are given to the editors, not the artist. change the picture of Britney on her Awards and Nominations 203.215.120.155 (talk) 05:37, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

Not done: as you have not requested a specific change in the form "Please replace XXX with YYY" or "Please add ZZZ between PPP and QQQ".
More importantly, you have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article.
As for the picture, please make your request for a new image to be uploaded to Files For Upload. Once the file has been properly uploaded, feel free to reactivate this request to have the new image used.
Please note that the picture must not be copyright, which excludes almost all images that you find on the internet, in magazines etc., and you will need proof that it is not copyright, just saying it is not copyright is not acceptable. - Arjayay (talk) 08:36, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

Totals

I just rejected a pending change, a ridiculous inflation of awards + unsuccessful nominations from 233 to 506. In the process I counted the nominations and the awards. I wouldn't be surprised to be a couple off either way; I was just trying for a rough number anyway, and I was within a couple of the numbers in the latest accepted revision.

But looking at the names and descriptions of the awards gave me to wonder how well the Golden Raspberries (2 wins out of 4 nominations: "Worst Actress" and "Worst Supporting Actress") and Fragrance Awards (4 out of 7) fit in a list of nominations and awards to a star who is a singer and actress, but not a fragrance designer. And of course the Golden Raspberry Awards are not awards in the normal sense at all, any more than the Ig Nobel Prizes are.

I'm not suggesting that these be removed from the list or segregated from the main list (although Glamour‍'s Glammies, "Best Fragrance - drugstore", and Cosmopolitan‍'s "Best Celebrity Fragrance For Women" have their own section, Fragrance Awards). But maybe they should be mentioned in the lede as not being awards for her talents. Hmmm? Thnidu (talk) 04:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

Here is a list if someone wants to cross reference and see what is missed that is reliable. http://www.thesimpleguideto.com/Britney%20Awards%20and%20Nominations.pdf GtstrickyTalk or C 19:45, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of awards and nominations received by Britney Spears's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Non awards and non-notable awards

@Johhnyfrankie13: I'll post it here because it seems you're not following.

  • EVMA Awards (non notable)
  • Fragrantica Choice Awards (non notable)
  • FR2 Touch Awards (non notable)
  • Groovevolt Music Fashion Awards (non notable)
  • Hammond Square Mall (non notable)
  • Hollywood Beauty Awards (non notable)
  • Imperio Music Awards (non notable)
  • Package Printing Excellence Award (non notable)
  • Perfumed Plume Awards (non notable)
  • Silver State Awards (non notable)
  • MVPA Awards (non notable)

They all don't even have a page on Wikipedia

Then you came up with stuff like:

  • Official Number 1 Awards (it means a number one..on the UK charts, not an award)
  • Staples Center
  • The Walt Disney Company
  • CDDB (Compact Disc Database??)

Then, awards for the songwriters listed in the list of winners, redundant but you didn't read the first time. She's not listed, plus a BMI artist does not even receive an ASCAP award, and the other way around

  • ASCAP Pop Music Awards
  • BMI

And lists (non awards) like:

  • Sony Music reporting sales
  • Vevo (not even the number one video so a lie either way)
  • Time Person of the Year...doesn't even have nominations: they have a symbolic public poll but the winners are chosen by experts

Finally, certifications that aren't awards...but certifications, just like RIAA

  • Vevo certified (for videos)
  • BDS (for radio spins)

And beauty lists..also Non-awards

  • AskMen "Awards"
  • FHM "Awards"

Just becase you add the word "award" doesn't mean those list turn into awards..

Cornerstonepicker (talk) 22:54, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

@JzG:, @EdJohnston:, @Serial Number 54129: sorry for the mentions but I find the same problem in this article. Listcruft and non-notable awards. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 01:39, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
Cornerstonepicker, you are not wrong. It looks as if people are doing an end-run round deletion. Guy (help!) 08:01, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

@Cornerstonepicker: okay so I've already removed non-notable and non-awards which is;

  • EVMA Awards
  • Fragrantica Choice Awards
  • Sony Music Turkey
  • Vevo
  • Vevo certified
  • Rolling Stone Magazine Awards
  • MTV Women of the Year
  • Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
  • Antville Music Video Awards
  • Apelzin Awards
  • CelebMix Awards
  • Indonesia Music Choice Awards
  • M6 Awards
  • March Music Madness Awards
  • PortalMix Awards
  • Rober Awards
  • The Flecking Awards
  • Wild Writings Online Awards

except

  • Groovevolt Music Fashion Awards (this is an award and have many sources for this award but the problem is just the page not created yet)
  • Hammond Square Mall (this organization honored Britney Spears, based on what written inside that book)
  • Hollywood Beauty Awards (which is I've already created a page for this awards but got deleted https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood_Beauty_Awards)
  • Imperio Music Awards & Silver State Awards (I still find for the page maybe in another language Wikipedia)
  • Package Printing Excellence Award & Perfumed Plume Awards (already notable)
  • MVPA Awards (also still finding for the page because this is a real award and made a ceremony every year back then)

also

besides,

  • The reason I put Phonographic Performance Company of Australia because I saw in List of awards and nominations received by Kylie Minogue put this so I think it's okay for me to put this too because Kylie Minogue page is a featured list.
  • FHM is ("the award is held every year (1995 - 2017), maybe it looks like such a poll but it doesn't because they will give 100 trophies to all the women on the list every year").

Hope you understand, Thank you. Johhnyfrankie13 (talk) 05:30, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

@Johhnyfrankie13:
  • FHM's 100 Sexiest Women is an annual listing, not an award, just like People's Sexiest Man Alive. The same happens with AskMen
  • The accolades you listed under "except" are all non-notable. Hollywood Beauty Awards article was deleted because does not meet WP:Notability.
  • "Official Number 1 Awards": the Official Charts Company gives that mini-trophy to all the artists that reach number one in the UK weekly, is not an award. Not an "online awards group".
  • Phonographic Performance Company of Australia is a list. Should be removed from that other article too. It's like suddenly putting the Annual best selling lists on all the Awards and nominations articles.
  • BDS Certified is a certification just like RIAA's gold and platinum program..
  • She does not receive any award from ASCAP, she's not listed on the songwriters awarded from neither 2004 nor 2010. 2012's reference is a wordpress blog...

Cornerstonepicker (talk) 05:52, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, FHM's 100 Sexiest Women is an annual listing but for me as long as received trophies so I think it's okay to put the listing in the awards page because if you realized, the table title is written "Award or organization", and FHM, AskMen, Official Number 1, and Phonographic Performance Company of Australia is an organization. Also before, you deleted VH1 because VH1 isn't an award and I agree with that because she didn't receive any trophies for the listing, it's just Listicle and already moved that to other accolades. Johhnyfrankie13 (talk) 06:57, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
@Johhnyfrankie13: The article is called "list of awards and nominations" not listicles. that's easy to understand. Those are not awards... And Official UK: absolutely everybody that reached #1 in the Uk receives that (https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/niall-horan-scores-his-first-uk-number-1-album-with-heartbreak-weather-this-is-just-incredible__29142/) It's a miniplaque. Doesn't belong here either.. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 22:28, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
Johhnyfrankie13, I am struggling to think of any circumstances wherre we would include FHM's listicles on any biography. Ever. Hotness is not an encyclopaedic quality. Guy (help!) 12:38, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
@Cornerstonepicker: & @JzG:, Can both of you guys take a look on my latest updated on the page also I already deleted FR2 Touch Awards & Official Number 1 Awards, Thank you. Johhnyfrankie13 (talk) 17:34, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
@Johhnyfrankie13:, before you remove my edits, again, I'll explain again why:
The "ASCAP Pop Award" for S&M was won by Mikel Eriksen and Tor Hermansen won as songwriters, not her. official link
BMI Awards: For "Circus" Claude Kelly, Benjamin “Benny Blanco” Levin, Matza Ball Music, Studio Beast Music, Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp. and Where Da Kasz At (songwriters/publishers listed) won. The last line in italics is the non-awarded performer. The same case with every song that was there. She's not listed as awarded songwriter.
BDS Spins Certifications are like RIAA Gold/Platinum certifications. Does not belong here.
The FMH "sexiest women of the year" is not an award, does not belong in a page called "Awards and nominations". I moved it to "Listicles".
Btw, why does a page called "Awards and nominations" have a section of listicles? That fails WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 01:48, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
@Cornerstonepicker: Noted!, alright also I think it's okay to put the listicles in other accolades as long as the table does not count it the infobox awards wins and nomination, I also saw the other awards page that created a new section for other accolades like Taylor Swift and Kylie Minogue. Both of which is a Featured list and has other accolades section. Johhnyfrankie13 (talk) 02:12, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
@Johhnyfrankie13: There are awards that have "n/a" in the References column. If those can be sourced/proved (with a WP:Reliable source), then they should be removed. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 02:27, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
Do not remove yet, I'm still finding for the sources and pretty sure these awards with N/A is a real awards and has a reliable source. Johhnyfrankie13 (talk) 04:07, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
@Cornerstonepicker: Hey, why did u removed the Hollywood Beauty Awards & Groovevolt, is there any problem to link the award to the main website also I've found the sources for Groovevolt!. Johhnyfrankie13 (talk) 07:05, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
@Johhnyfrankie13: Because both are non-notable. The "main website" does not prove WP:Notability, and shouldn't be linked at all. Those awards don't belong here. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 22:33, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
I've removed britney dot com and absolutelybritney dot com per WP:Primary sources. Her own website or fan sites can't be used as sources. And there's a Guinness record which source is SlideShare (?) Cornerstonepicker (talk) 23:40, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
@Johhnyfrankie13: unsourced awards should be removed. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 04:40, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

American Choreography Awards

@Saiff Naqiuddin: Please explain this edit, in which you reverted me and re-added the American Choreography Awards. Again, these awards/nominations were given to the choreographers not Britney Spears herself, as the cited refs themselves say. So why do these awards belong on a List of awards and nominations received by Britney Spears? Bennv123 (talk) 04:44, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
