What is a "Sydney FC Player"?[edit]

Should guys who were in squads for various tournaments (Oceania Championship, CWC) be listed here??? Guys like Blowes, Wells, Cattanach, Renaud, Brodie were in various squads... are they considered "Sydney FC players" ??? --[dM] 12:16, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think yes, they should be included, as they still played for Sydney FC, just in a different competition - it IS the same club as the A-League club. Compare to Perth Glory in the A-League and Perth Glory in the NSL - I believe it is different owners, logo, etc. so as to whether it is the same club is questionable. -- Chuq 22:09, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi everyone, just a quick word on the 2008/2009 season transfers; ive heard some rumours (mostly from the press) that Sydney FC are looking at 2 young players who hail from Peru and Jordan respectivly. I was just wondering if you had heard these rumours, and if you know if we are signing them? Also ive heard rumours we will be getting Mark Viduka when he finishes his contract with Newcastle United in the EPL. can this also be confirmed for me. Cheers, --Lt.Barnes2007 19:29 17/2/08

Duplicate information[edit]

THis is essentially duplicating the information at Category:Sydney FC players. Sydney FC#Noted players contains former players and the Sydney FC#Current squad details current players - the category can show all past and present players. I don't think there is any need for this separate player page (which most/all A-League clubs have). Fedgin 08:14, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your intentions, but I don't think the former article does that. The list article has a section on notable players that would cover that. The key thing here is that I don't think there should be two articles that outline people who played for Sydney at some point. - Tomperc (talk) 00:01, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have decided to leave Sydney FC former players as it is, and delete the article i made, as i was against a majority who seemed it appropiate just to have the one page. Lt.Barnes2007 7:40pm 9 Febuary 2008, and i know this is spam, but Sydney FC do rock!

Revamp[edit]

I haven't edited anything in a long time. Came back and found this page so out of date, in shambles, it's almost embarrassing. Going to spend a while editing this, so that it's completely up to date, and worthy of a decent page status. It might take a while, juggling work and uni commitments, but I'll get it done.
