Image copyright problem with Image:RobertCollegePlateau.gif[edit]

The image Image:RobertCollegePlateau.gif is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Better Photos[edit]

Instead of random campus photos, how about pictures of some of the notable alumni?

Massive trimming of list[edit]

WP:NLIST says that all people on lists of this type must either have their own wikipage or a reliable source (or two) verifying 1) that they are an alumni of the school, and 2) they are important enough to be mentioned in prose in the article (here, we mean the main Robert College). While the latter is harder to change, for the moment, I am going to begin by removing every red-linked person without a source; this appears to be the vast majority of this article. Please do not re-add any names without providing verification of their status and important. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:18, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While I see that there is a list on the "Reference", it only seems to list a variety of people, without and details about them. We need a better source that actually provides details of why these people are important. See, the other policy that comes into here is WP:NOT--Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Our job is not to replicate the roll-sheet of an alumni list. Instead, our job is to list encyclopedic information--good clear summaries of important, notable points. The truth is that the majority of people who attend any given school are unlikely to rise to the level of importance to appear in a Wikipedia article, and even fewer will rise to the level of importance to have their own article. Notable alumni[edit]

One of the best lists of notable alumni I have seen. All linked and ordered. I wish all lists looked like this ! I might use this as an example when cleaning up other, much less satisfactory lists. Great work!  Velella  Velella Talk   10:58, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
