Untitled[edit]

DEAR ALL:

Any one have an info. of Picasso's portraite (Little girl with a hoop), I need any info. you have regarding this protraite which should be painted on 1919 as signed. Keep me posted and contact me on this email: erbfield@yahoo.com Best regards, Aysar

Clean up[edit]

  • Duplicate entries removed.
  • Outdated image links removed (all images).
  • Dewikified because there are 437 list items and blue links (very few) will show which have pages or are linked.
  • Many of the bluelinks were plain spurious, and redlinks are just plain ugly.
  • List alphabetised.
Recommendations
  • Create list as sortable table
  • Consider English translations of titles
  • Dates of painting
  • periods of art
  • where exposed or owners
  • estimated value.

Images[edit]

With the increasing number of images, I was wondering if a Gallery section (or sections) would be better than the thumbs on the right of the page, as a large area of white is now present extending far beyond the written list of works. The list of works is ordered alphabetically, while the images are ordered according to dates, making it difficult to harmonize the images with the body of text. If there is only one gallery, it could go before or after the written list. Any comments? Coldcreation (talk) 05:38, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and placed the images in a gallery section. Comments, of course, still welcome. Coldcreation (talk) 05:48, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The same could be done for List of Picasso artworks 1901–10. Coldcreation (talk) 05:52, 12 June 2015

Comment[edit]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Accordionist is missing from this page... and that page doesn't have an image -- need image. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.176.28.101 (talk) 05:24, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just to note, this is the only Picasso works list page not separated by years, which would be a large task indeed. Also it's the only one not italicized, and have started on that (finished the italics). Randy Kryn (talk) 00:10, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Large is an understatement. I wonder why dates were not added from the start. Coldcreation (talk) 03:19, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
A mystery that would be an interesting study. Here are the creation edits, and they were not alphabetized. I wonder if this early list was chronological when copied and the source had the artworks listed by years. This list may be one of the art articles on Wikipedia which needs the most work and the most eyes on it, visual arts WikiProject, etc.. This list covers a most important and productive period in Picasso's life, and should be turned chronological, although I doubt I can help much in that although if lots of editors were working on it, and the chore looked long, I'd at least lend a hand on a few listings. Only six paintings from this period, the Cubism period, are listed on the Picasso template. Not very many articles considering the amount of paintings even presented in the gallery. But I'm not a major article writer (just have done a few art pages) [Edit: BUT I DIGRESS:] and I wish art historians worldwide would get off their whatevers and start contributing to Wikipedia. If the Picasso experts alone would write just a page or two pages on many important artworks would be added. Wishful thinking until the Nobel Peace Prize arrives (which I've been saying will come about 2024, give or take two years, and I really hope 2022 or sooner is the actual date), which will give the umph the project needs to load up on talented freely-giving academics.
