Icons & Dates[edit]

I've removed once again the icons from this page and ask again that Lurulu explain why this article should be exempt from the Wikipedia manual of style on the use of icons.

It is also noted that Wikipedia articles should follow a standard date format, and that format should be determined by that most suited to the article subject. Owl City is an American act. It should therefore follow the American format of month, then day. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 20:45, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The flagicons are icon decoration as I explained when I removed them. The date format should be the American format since Owl City is an American music project and Adam Young is an American. Also I recent removed the YouTube clips since they are unneeded and they violate WP:ELNEVER. User:Lurulu thinks they WP:OWN this article and they do not have to explain their reversions or discuss to gain a consensus here on the talk page. Aspects (talk) 19:42, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the flag icons from this article yet again and will be reporting User:Lurulu for edit warring. Repeated attempts have been made to reason with this editor, but it is evident that they care nothing for policies on consensus, are happy to ignore the guidelines in the manual of style, believe they own this article, and refuse to discuss their edits. This amounts to disruptive editing. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 12:17, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NOT (advertizing)[edit]

Please do not add future tour dates... this amounts to advertizing (see WP:NOT)... as tour events occur they can be added. Blueboar (talk) 01:43, 24 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Format for 2013 tour[edit]

RE: the 2013 tour... I note that people keep adding the fact that Maroon 5 and Neon Trees are also on the tour. Not sure why this needs to be mentioned. None of the other sections mention who was also on the tour. More to the point, why is this being added to the Venue column. It has nothing to do with the venue. If we must note who else is played in a given concert, create a separate column for that information. Blueboar (talk) 23:35, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're assuming that there were supporting artists in the other tours! Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:25, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
True. Note, just so it's clear, I am not objecting to mentioning these other groups... I am raising the question as to why we do so... and how we do so. I have a few other ideas that I will play with (and if I make a change that you don't like, feel free to revert ... I don't get upset by being reverted... that's how Wikipedia is supposed to work). Hopefully we can come up with something that satisfies everyone. Blueboar (talk) 02:09, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK... Take a look at my latest version... I have used WP:footnotes to indicate whether the concert was a solo engagement or with other bands (and listing which other bands). This conforms the number of columns in the 2013 list to those of other years (ie no need for an extra column to note other band) which I think looks better. Let me know what you think.
