Julius Streicher[edit]

Nowhere in Julius Streicher does it say he received the award, and it doesn't make sense that a Nazi war criminal would. Please supply a citation or I will remove this entry. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 00:08, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Format for Page Information[edit]

A transition to a new format for this page, and all the other similar surname-categorised pages relating to the Lists of Légion d'honneur recipients, was discussed in the main chat section of the umbrella page for all these pages.

This new format, involved the conversion of the old "text-based list" structure to a new sortable "table" format, with columns for "Recipient Name", "Dates (born/died)", "General Work", "Award Category (Year Awarded)", "Reason for the Award" etc. This "table" format change is designed to resolve a few of the intrinsic problems with the old "text-based list" format:-

1) STANDARDISING DATA - With a "table" format, editors will know which data is required and how to add that data.
2) SORTABLE - The "text-based lists" at the moment are only sorted in order of surname, however, with a sortable "table" format, entries can be easily be ordered into any category that is required, by any user needing that information.
3) ENTRY DUPLICATION - A sortable "table" format enables easy identification of duplicate entries, thus avoiding this continual problem.
4) FULL DATA - Allowing a column for each data category required means that information is unlikely to be omitted by editors adding new data, as they have to leave such required fields blank.

This transition has also accompanied a tightening up the inclusion of inline citations, thus avoiding the problems associated with vandals adding dubious names that might not be of people that have genuinely won such honours.

I am posting general discussion on the transition of these pages into this new format of the surname categorised pages relating to the Lists of Légion d'honneur recipients into the general umbrella main chat section. I am posting and discussing specific problems with the implementation of this new format on this praticular 'Wikipage' here. Please provide feedback! SMargan (talk) 14:23, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
