Rankings of Full Members in Test, ODI, T20I, WODI and WT20I[edit]

The Rankings of the full members in the forms of cricket are not up to date as of July 14 2019 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.163.154.139 (talk) 09:32, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Associate members[edit]

Isn't the list of Associate Members complete?

Well spotted - yes, I think it is. -- ALoan (Talk) 20:20, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is France an Associate or Affiliate member ? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:ICC-cricket-member-nations.png and the "List of International Cricket Council members" page claim different things)
They're an associate. If you look at the full resolution of the image, France does appear in the correct colour but not on the normal size... it's a strange one... Andrew nixon 21:18, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Members who have played at least one ODI[edit]

Should teams that have played (or in the case of Oman, scheduled to play) an ODI be highlighted in some way? What about Japan, for instance, which although affiliate has played ODI matches in women's cricket? I think this would be a useful distinction to draw in certain cases. Also, current World Cup qualifiers who are currently authorized to play ODIs against full members and even each other should probably be highlighted in some way too. TheGrappler 07:03, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps some footnotes? Women's cricket is tricky - Ireland has played Women's Test cricket, for example, but not Zimbabwe or Bangladesh; and there is a list of teams that have played in Women's one-day international cricket. -- ALoan (Talk) 07:27, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Affiliate members[edit]

What is incomplete about the list of affiliate members? The ICC website lists only those countries. Lemmy Kilmister 11:36, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Map is wrong[edit]

The colour coded map is incorrect (or at least, doesn't match the list in the article) in many points, e.g. Botswana's status. I don't know how to edit the map, but perhaps its creator can fix it.

Ordinary Person 22:57, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can't comment on that - but the map colours are a little odd - the darkest colour has been used for the least advanced nations - it would be better if purple was for Test, orange for Associate and green (which is very light) for Affiliate. 172.143.215.221 14:33, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Stevebritgimp not signed in.[reply]

Status of the United States[edit]

The article claims that the United States is suspended, but this is not given in the cited source. -- JeffBillman (talk) 20:10, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Correct source added. IgnorantArmies (talk) 06:51, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Affiliate members are no more[edit]

Now just two levels; Full Member and Associate Member. Source Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:34, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Retention of full membership[edit]

In the article it is written as fact that the ICC now requires full members to fulfil certain criteria over an eight year period in order to retain full membership. However there is nothing about this in the latest news and the only source for it is an article which was discussing the proposed changes and which details Bangladesh's challenge to these changes and notes other (unnamed) members' disquiet about the proposals.209.236.26.254 (talk) 00:32, 24 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've had a trawl through coverage following the recent meetings (where Ireland and Afghanistan promoted) and can't find any further mention of these proposals being passed, so am going to remove this. Spike 'em (talk) 13:30, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Links should be to Cricket Associations, not teams[edit]

The members of ICC are the national governing bodies, not the teams that they administer. This was brought into focus as I have been trying to edit page to reflect USACA being expelled but the USA national teams still exist. If no-one objects I will change links to be to a flag and relevant governing body / cricket board. Spike 'em (talk) 13:19, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have also edited the Template:National cricket teams, which links back here, so an alternative is to rename this list as "List of national cricket teams"? Looking at football as a comparison, I see there is List of FIFA Member Associations, a redirect to a section of List of men's national association football teams which lists teams rather than the FAs that they represent. Spike 'em (talk) 14:20, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As a guide ICC members page states : Full Members/ Associate Members are the governing bodies for cricket of a country recognised by the ICC Spike 'em (talk) 14:46, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
