Anacronistic entries[edit]

Why are there entries here from long before the establishment of this police force? Some of these may belong with ACT policing, or NSW policing but not here. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:56, 2 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No? Okay then, I'll revert my edit. The73 (talk) 03:22, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. You may have over reverted on Richard Leslie Norden. Good to check that year. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:33, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this list only contain AFP, why not all Australian police officers? There's even a List of American police officers killed in the line of duty. Should a new page be made including all Australian police officers? Also should've kept the cause of deaths, that would've been nice. A187 (talk) 03:37, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The cause of death column is a good idea. So you are welcome to add that back. The scope is the way it is because user:Ben McCarthy created it that way over 11 years ago. You are welcome to start a page entitled List of Australian Police killed in the line of duty as that too should be encyclopedic, after all there is a memorial for them. What to watch out for is if the list is too long and it would be good to break it down by state or force. A definition of "killed in the line of duty" may need to be added, because the cause ranges from accident to murder. But would not cover natural causes like heart attack or suicide. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:02, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The American list has problems because its early coverage is very incomplete. Probably if it was complete it would be far too big. Collapsible is not a good idea for article content. People come there to look and read, not click more buttons. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:05, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
