Other Volumes[edit]

On my copy of Asterix in Belgium U.K. version, the reverse shows all issues of the comics until Flying Carpet, and there are 6 additional comics there that are not anywhere in this article. They are: 

The Twelve Tasks of Asterix
Asterix Versus Caesar
The First Asterix Frieze
Asterix Adventure Games: Asterix to the Rescue
Asterix Adventure Games: Operation Britain
Asterix Adventure Games: Asterix Against All Odds

None of those are real comics. The Twelve Tasks of Asterix and Asterix Versus Caesar are movie tie ins. The other three are "game" albums: they contain panels from various comic books and have puzzles, simple mazes, and jokes. -- Jordi·✆ 15:11, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Back in the 80s compilations of Asterix books were printed containing several volumes in one. The compilation containing The Twelve Tasks of Asterix did not have the movie adaptation book but a real comic book version of the story which I have never seen published ever again. Order of publication?[edit]

Is the order of publication the one for the original French versions? Or is it the date of publication of the English translation? The official German numbering scheme for the early books certainly seems incompatible with this list (e.g. "The Golden Sickle" is number 5, "Asterix the Gladiator" is number 3 in Germany). --Stephan Schulz 23:58, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The order given here is the original (French) order of publication — and due to internal references & consistency, the only order that really makes sense (real world historical issues aside) ... Most translations to other languages have been out of order since some albums are easier than others due to the regional reference puns/in-jokes (or rather lack of them) and there was also a tendency to do the more popular albums first ...--Invisifan 00:21, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, Asterix and the Goths has 43, Asterix Conquers Rome has 27, not sure how many pages in Asterix and the Class Act but its a collection separate short stories. Kuratowski's Ghost (talk) 17:13, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like a pirate edition conveying political Anti-nuclear messages. The artwork seems rather shoddy, and there's no copyright message. The title is Dutch for "Asterix and the Nuclear power plants". 惑乱 分からん * \)/ (\ (< \) (2 /) /)/ * (talk) 00:39, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
After further googling, this seems to be a pirate work originating from 1979, with translations and other editions in several languages, and the artwork copied from the original books in a new context. Comment on "The great divide"[edit]

In the comment section the great divide mentions that this story alludes to the berlin wall...this is untrue in a televised interview which could have been aired on BRT or RTBF television or on Antenne2( french public television ) around the time of publication the author referred to the Belgian language issue and the "linguistic border" between Flanders and Wallonia, as an example of the systemic urge of people to make divides between them and the almost universal the romeo and juliet theme. He didn't mention the Berlin wall or the iron curtain, oalthough that was the ultimate post-war example of the divide. --DerekvG (talk) 10:53, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Asterix and the Chieftain's Shield in the table[edit]

In the table in the article, the "Main Setting" column for Asterix and the Chieftain's Shield is needlessly long, creating surplus vertical space for the row. Here is how it appears on my screen:

Cities in
southern
France:
Acqua
Calidae
(Vichy),
Gergovia,
Nemessos
(Clermont-
Ferrand)

That's ten rows. In contrast, the "Plot" column for the same album appears like this:

After too many banquets, chief Vitalstatistix is forced to visit a spa in the Arvernian countryside to nurse his sore liver.
Meanwhile, Caesar orders his men to search the area for the shield of Vercingetorix, regarded as a patriotic symbol by the
Gauls.
