Aside from genetic material, numerous drugs (especially of the aqueous-soluble variety) can be injected via lipofection. For instance, lipofection has been capable of delivering anticancer drugs since the late 1980s. The administration of antibiotics such as amphotericin B has also been proven possible.

Why does "lipofectin" redirect here?[edit]

Found it. It's a product trade name: "Lipofectin® Transfection Reagent is the reagent of choice for transfection of endothelial cells." Equinox (talk) 16:59, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
