Reach line of actual control?

@樂號:, you say XD come on, every Line of Actual Control is existed only after conquer of a place. how come it exist before conquer. An Indian don't have the quality to judge language level of wiki user. Your mother tongue is hindi not english.

I am afraid this is wrong logic and completely irrelevant. Your wording "Chinese forces...reached the Line of Actual Control" implies that the Line existed before the Chinese forces reached them, which is not the case by your own admission. So your wording is completely inappropriate.

You should also focus on discussing content, and refrain from discussing editors. A repeat of this kind of behviour will invite sanctions. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 23:50, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

thank for pointing out. this sentence is actually unfinished. my point is, please mind the topic of this article is LAC, not different clamming lines. focus on topic, LAC is a more appropriate wording.
the reason for showing this map is to show the "LAC".--樂號 (talk) 04:29, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
The point is fine. But the edit is not. You will have to figure out how to word it so that it is not misleading. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:54, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

Misinformation regarding the length of the LAC in Ladakh

According to Lt Gen Panag,

Out of the 857-km-long border in Ladakh, only 368 km is international border (IB) and the rest of the 489 km is the LAC. This was the line reached by China in 1962, which is exactly as per its 1960 claim line. (ThePrint, 4 June 2020)

I have also seen a similar claim, in a more garbled form from P. Stobdan.

However this is incorrect. It assumes that the international border prevails in the Demchok sector. It does not. The international maps only show the Indian and Chinese claim lines there, neither of which is operative. There is an LAC in the middle, which the map-makers don't know about.

Leaving this out, one finds only about 30-40km in the middle (shown here on Google maps) and about 120–150 km in the south (shown here) as genuine international border. The rest is LAC. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 22:28, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Demchok area

Change Indian administered Ladakh /LAC map slightly as area east of Demchok is under administration of China since 1962 war

Change Indian administered Ladakh /LAC map slightly as area east of Demchok is under administration of China since 1962 war. Please greyed out that area east of Demchok. Sources: BBC, New Indian Express — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ritabharidevi (talkcontribs) 11:35, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

The CIA map in the infobox does not show the LAC at Demchok. It only shows two claim lines. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 10:10, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
