Motive / Motif[edit]

It may be the translation from German, or could just be me, but does the final sentence "The lighthouse is a popular motive for photographs" sound a bit ... off? It makes sense, but I was wondering if it should be "popular motif for photographs" or "popular motive for photographers". The Lindau Lighthouse, located in Lindau on Lake Constance, is the southernmost lighthouse in Germany. It is 33 metres (108 ft) tall and has a perimeter of 24 metres (79 ft) at its base. It has a clock in its facade.Photograph: Taxiarchos228

The action of a lighthouse being triggered by incoming ships radios is most unusual, and would deny navigation aids to any craft without a working radio. How is it achieved? Post-move question - is 'Lighthouse' part of the proper name?[edit]

The original German page seems to capitalise Lighthouse https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuer_Leuchtturm_(Lindau), as does most of the search results that google return. Do we take translation into account? - LÒÓkingYourBest^(Talk|Edits) 10:35, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
