Library book vandalism[edit]

Is there a place for discussion of vandalism of library books, of which Joe Orton is the most famous practitioner[1]? It doesn't exactly fit in the existing article, but is closely related. --Colapeninsula (talk) 10:44, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Although vandalism should really be a separate article, there seems no reason not to include a section here until it develops further. I see from the orton website that they also stole plates from the books--this sort of mutilation is theft, but its nature is usually somewhat different--there is a long history going back centuries of removing individual illustrated leaves from religious service books and then selling them. There is room here for considerable expansion of various aspects--there's a considerable literature. DGG ( talk ) 01:17, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
