"Cortes" in the title of this article should be Cortés but I don't know how to put the accent mark on the title of an article. Can somebody do it? Or tell me how? Smallchief 15:43, 26 December 2010 (UTC) User:Smallchief

Done. Clicked on right-triangle menu for "move" and typed correct name with accent. Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 02:32, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Out-of-wedlock in lead sentence[edit]

I removed this, as the details in the text contradict this. She wasn't married to the father, but she was married before the child was born per the text. Not clear the concept was even relevant to the Aztecs... Skyerise (talk) 19:57, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I just put this back, along with your removal of her from 16th century Mexican category. She was born into Virreino de Nueva España, which most decidedly did have the concept. She lived her entire life under the control of people from Europe. As for the category of 16th century Mexicans, the category still exists. By your comment, I would have presumed you would have deleted the category, but it still has dozens of entries. In general, history of a predecessor nation is considered history of the successor nation. Tarl N. (discuss) 01:51, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Correction, she was 7 years old when the viceroyalty was declared. She was born in the territory of New Spain, governed by her father. Either way, she never even visited Spain, and would likely not have been considered Spanish had she done so. Tarl N. (discuss) 01:59, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
